I Corthinthians 13 is based on the concept and virtue of love. Paul goes on that without love, there is no purpose in life. Love is everything that is good. "[4] Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant [5] or rude."

The love of God is the most sustaining thing in our lives. Everything will pass, from knowledge to prophecy to tongues (languages), but loves is eternal. The most famous part of Chapter 13 is verse 13 - "And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love."

I find chapter 12, One Body, Many parts very interesting because it describe the body as one unit that has many parts, which is refered to as us being the body of christ and how each one of us are many body parts that make up the body of christ and if one part of the body or us suffer then the whole body or we suffer and vise versa in therms of a body part being honered or us then as a whole our body or we are happy. Verse 12- 13 says, "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts;and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with is with christ. For we are all baptized by one spirt into one body- wether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free we are all given on spirt to drink."

I find the story of the true wisdom of God very importanted
1 corinthians 2:7,8
"(7) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: (8)Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
These verses are importanted because it talks about the wisdom of the Lord being a mystery. And if they knew this wisdom christ never would have been crucified.
It then goes on how the spirit of God is recieved.
1 corinthians 2:12,13" Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
These verses are importanted because they speak of the Holy Ghost who will give great wisdom and this wisdom will be greater than you could get from any man.

I think the portion in Corinthians about divisions in the church is important and interesting. Paul says that early Christians needed to be united in the same mind and purpose. He also says that there are not divisions within the church's leaders, and especially in Jesus Christ. He also says that he was sent to proclaim the gospel so that the cross may not be emptied of power. I think this is an important aspect of the church that affected Christianity then and for many, many years to come.

1 Corinthians: Chapter 12 discusses the gifts God will bestow unto man such as the ability to perform miracles, the gift of prophecy (to others), discerning of spirits, speaking in tongues, and interpreting tongues. All these are said to come from one spirit. These gifts bestowed upon man sounds like witchcraft and many have been put to death for these same reasons.

1 Cor. 13

I would like to comment on my favorite chapter in the book of 1 Cor. This is my favorite chapter because I believe it describes the kind of love that God has for everyone. When we look at this chapter we automatically know what kind of love we should walk in but maybe havn't considered that God doesn't require something of us that he doesn't also do. God's love is just like this to me. I find that very comforting.

1Corinthians 10: 12&13
In the beginning of chapter 10 Paul is telling them the Isreal’s history so that he could use their example as a warning to them. Verse 12 talks about if you think you are standing firm…you may not be. You need to be careful because if you are too arrogant you will fall. Verse 13 talks about temptation and how all of it is common to man b/c we are sinful. The temptation that you are facing is not uncommon for other people. Someone else is or has dealt with the same thing you face. Then it says that God is Faithful…and he will always provide a way out. He will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear.

I find this very interesting b/c sometimes I think that the reason I’m being tempted so much is because I must have done something to upset God. No so, I am being tempted so that I can work on becoming stronger. Temptation is good…just as long as we do not give in. Usually when we are tempted it is when we are tired both spiritually and physically…and those are the times when we usually give in. However, it is cool to think that God has the confidence in me that he knows I have the ability to overcome that temptation during my season of tiredness.
